About Me
Journey said it best, I'm just a small town girl. I was born and raised in Vauxhall, Alberta. After graduating high school I moved to Victoria, BC to attend the University of Victoria and then completed the 3000 hour RMT program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. I decided to come back home to Alberta to further my passion in helping others by enrolling in the Acupuncture and TCM program here in Calgary. I graduated from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2013 after completing a 3 month internship in Mian Yang, Sichuan, China where I observed and trained with some of the most respected Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors. The internship included teachings in pediatrics, gynecology, dermatology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, and cosmetology to name a few.
My first personal experience with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine was during my years as a competitive dancer in my teens. First used for pain relief and then for chronic health concerns, it was soon apparent the many health benefits that acupuncture could bring to my life.

My style of acupuncture is best described as an 'east meets west' approach. I use a variety of techniques such as dry needling, ashi (pain) points, distal acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, massage and more.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a complete medical system with its own theoretical foundation, diagnostic methods, treatment principles and modalities, and standards of competence and practice. The practice of acupuncture involves inserting ultra-fine needles into the defined specific acupuncture points on meridians of the body, with a specific needling manipulation technique, for prevention and treatment of diseases. Acupuncture may be used together with moxibustion, cupping, and other TCM treatment modalities.

Cupping
Commonly used as an adjunct therapy to acupuncture. For people with needle fears, cupping on its own can offer a great alternative treatment. Cupping aids in the treatment of:
Tight muscles
Back pain and Sciatica
Piriformis syndrome and IT Band pain
Rotator cuff injuries
Plantar fasciitis
Migraines
Respiratory conditions, including Asthma and Bronchitis
Anxiety, Depression, and Stress
High blood pressure
Microneedling
Micro-needles penetrate through the epidermis stimulating a healing reaction. The body recognizes that there's been trauma at the local site and recruits collagen, fibrin, elastin and nutrients to heal the area. The induced collagen forms a new confluent layer, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful look. Microneedling can be used for:
Fine lines & Wrinkles
Hyperpigmentation
Thin Skin
Non-inflammatory Rosacea
Loss of resiliency
Premature aging
Scars
UV Damage
Stretch marks
Hair loss
Under eye circles
